As the days become shorter, and the nights longer, we sharpen our axes and crampons. And we look forward to that blanket of snow, because that means we go out and play. Because the mountains are our passion, it comes across in our enthusiasm. Our winter courses are more than just teaching you skills. We aim to give you the skills to become independent. There are winter courses to suit all abilities, whether you are just starting out, or need to fine tune your skills.

The winter environment in Scotland’s mountains can be a magical place. It also offers a challenging environment and decision making process. Here at Rise & Summit, we will teach you the skills, knowledge and confidence to go out and have your own adventures, and access it safely. These courses take place in Scotland from January until the end of March.

We have a strict limit on the number of people on each course. So that we can give you our close attention, every step of the way. Our Winter courses are run in the West Highlands, or the Cairngorms using Fort William and Aviemore as bases respectively.
